The 2022 Advertising and Design students competed in a poster contest for this year's theatre performance of "Dracula". Below are the posters that were submitted, with the winner being the first on the slideshow. The 2022 AVD students collaborated and worked with American Wildlife Refuge to create posters celebrating the "Owl - O - Ween", and annual event where the general public come out to the refuge, and get a first hand account of everything that the refuge does to support and rehabilitate birds of prey. This years event was the first "Owl - O - Ween" at the Refuge. Previous events were held at a local park in Clayton. Representatives from the AWF are still actively seeking volunteers to help. If interested in volunteering, please email [email protected] or call their office at 919-395-7749 Enloe & Athens design students collaborate to make concert posters for Daniel Donato Cosmic Country10/18/2022
Over the summer teacher Matt Busch interviewed Daniel Donato, at the closing of the interview Donato offered an opportunity for students to create posters for this concert, to be displayed at the show. These posters are the collected work of a collaborative effort of both Enlo & Athens Drive High School graphic design students. Both schools have design programs focused on providing real-world opportunities such as this. We hope you enjoy the talents of these young designers. We encourage you to support these programs should further opportunities present themselves. To respect the identity of our students, we have left their names off the posters.
Background
We have seen A LOT of messaging go out to the general public about staying healthy, staying socially distant, being environmentally conscious, mindful of screen times and mental health, etc.Over the last two years there has been an increase in infographics representing information and encouraging populations to take action and understand complex topics. BUT we have not seen much messaging directed at high school aged students. High school students are a huge consumer of visual data through the vast social media platforms. This project is focused on reaching high school students in the current times, disseminating pertinent information, while also building your ability in flat design and controlling hierarchy. Consider your audience. You are reaching the HIGH SCHOOLER (more specifically at Enloe)... so what do you need to do, how do you need to design, phrase, create a graphic that reaches them? What types of things do you need to consider as you develop the piece? Here is the assignment: |
